Welcome to the Church of

St Joseph

1 Stavordale Road Weymouth DT4 0AB

St_Josephs_Ch.JPG

St Joseph’s Church was built in 1933, with the foundation stone laid early in that year. It is within a short walking distance from Weymouth town centre car parks.

The Church is rather larger than St Augustine’s. Its parish hall  is adjacent to the Church and parishioners meet for refreshments after Mass on Sundays. At other times it is very busy as a venue for the many functions organised by parishioners, including social functions. Many of these functions are shared with parishioners from St Augustine’s.

The Parish Priest is Fr Stephen Geddes.

The existing St. Joseph's car park at the front and at the back of the Church Hall currently holds 20 cars but can if necessary hold 25 cars. At the weekend and at Christmas and Easter we have the use of the car park beside the Church which belongs to Betterment Properties and this gives us a further 13 spaces.

As well as this, limited off street parking is available in streets around the Church, but please ensure that you do not obstruct people's entrances to their driveways. Please do not park on double yellow lines as you will get a ticket!

Across the Bridge from the Church about 5 to 10 minutes normal walking there are car parks, (including the Bridge itself), which provide parking for hundreds of cars. There is a footpath from these car parks via the Bridge which leads directly to St Joseph's Church. These car parks are Pay and Display but be careful to allow for enough time as if you overrun, you also risk getting a ticket!
